Introducing Dr. Wilkins, Principal of NSES

Introducing Dr. Andrea Tillery Wilkins
Dear Parents, Students, and Community Partners,

It is with excitement and enthusiasm that I write this letter introducing myself as the new principal of Northern Shores Elementary School.

Professionally, I have been in the field of education for 26 years. During that time, I taught elementary school students for 11 years, high school students and adult learners for 7 years. I served as a Dean of Students for 3 years in elementary and middle school settings. Most recently, I have served as an Assistant Principal for the past 5 years at Northern Shores Elementary.

Educationally, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, from Norfolk State University. I received a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University, and I earned a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a Minor in Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern University. In addition, I hold a math and a teaching endorsement.

My goal as the new principal of Northern Shores Elementary School is to consider all stakeholders in my planning and initiatives. I will continue to incorporate our motto: Commitment, Community, and Collaboration.

It is also my goal to be an inclusive leader who leads by example and a leader who builds strong and meaningful relationships with staff, students, and community members. In addition, you can expect me to ensure the teachers and staff have the tools, resources, and support to educate, motivate, and challenge our students towards greatness!

I look forward to our continued partnership in this new role.

Respectfully,

Dr. Andrea Tillery Wilkins, Principal
